W-E-L-S is an acronym for the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. This Synod is made up of over 1,500 active congregations across the United States that are in doctrinal agreement, united in their teaching and faith in Christ Jesus, and so have joined together in fellowship with one another. The WELS website (www.wels.net) contains a great deal of information about the Synod and our beliefs as Christians, along with reliable spiritual help and other items of interest.
